pronouns she/her

Maya creates a warm, structured, and accepting space where clients feel heard, validated, and supported. With her calm tone and empathic presence, Maya helps clients explore their experiences, gain confidence to make necessary changes, and build insight into healthier relationships, including with themselves. Her self-awareness and sensitivity allow her to meet each person with respect and care, empowering them to reconnect with their own strengths and resilience. While therapy is a process that moves at the client’s pace, Maya serves as a guide who provides tools to apply to life’s inevitable challenges.

Maya draws from an eclectic range of therapeutic modalities, including mindfulness and Buddhist principles, tailoring her approach to the unique needs of each client. Whether offering support after trauma, grief, illness, or life transitions, she guides clients in creating greater ease and clarity in their lives. Maya brings the ability to help adult clients build confidence in their own voice, supporting the development of communication and leadership skills in both personal and professional settings. In addition to her clinical training, Maya brings over 20 years of experience working with children and families, including supporting them with changes to family structure, significant illness, death of a family member, difficulties at school, moving, or social concerns.

Maya is a New Paltz native who spent 20 years living and working in New York City.

In addition to a masters in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY New Paltz, Maya holds a Master of Science in Childhood Education from Bank Street College and Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Complementary Health from SUNY Empire. Humor and time in nature are important parts of Maya’s life.

Maya primarily works with adults.
